Kubuntu 13.10 Alpha 1 Officially Released

Canonical announced the immediate availability for download and testing of the first Alpha release for the upcoming Kubuntu 13.10 (Saucy Salamander) operating system.

Kubuntu 13.10 Alpha 1 (Saucy Salamander) has been launched along with a number of other Ubuntu flavors, incorporating a lot of new features.

Highlights of Kubuntu 13.10 Alpha 1 (Saucy Salamander):

• KDE Plasma and Applications 4.11 Beta 1 has been integrated in the distribution;
• Muon Discover, a new tool to discover and install applications, has been added;
• Linux kernel has been updated to version 3.9.0.7 Ubuntu Linux kernel, which is based on the upstream v3.9.7 Linux kernel.
